Test Centre Principles

Preparation during Covid-19

This guidance on safer working environments is to be used in addition to UK government’s COVID-19 advice. The following principles aim to reduce the risk of cross infection to candidates, participants, staff members, the general public and anyone involved in the management of the centre. They must be in place and applied at all times.

Principles:

  1. Our modern, equipped I.T centre aims for an uninterrupted and serene testing experience with cubicles devoid of clutter;
  2. Candidates and participants are booked to attend the centre at specific times (no drop-in sessions);
  3. Testing is monitored by on-hand technical officers and remotely;
  4. A record of attendance will be maintained; a telephone number will be required to assist with possible contact tracing;
  5. No catering other than bottled water will be consumed in testing rooms;
  6. No bags, equipment, books, gadgets etc are allowed into the testing room unless permitted/authorised by a responsible authority;
  7. It is no longer mandatory (although recommended) for candidates, participants and visitors to wear a face covering when arriving at the centre;
  8. Please do not attend your programme if you:
    1. Have experienced a loss of taste or smell,
    2. Have fever or new, continuous dry cough,
    3. Have been advised to stay home for medical reasons.
  9. As part of Covid-19 symptom check, temperature of candidate will be taken on arrival at the testing centre. If Covid-19 is suspected (>38), candidates and participants will be advised to follow the PHE guidance, including self-isolation;
  10.  As part of our Covid-19 protocols, keyboard, mouse and cubicles are cleaned after every use. Additional equipment (detergent wipes, waste bins and alcohol hand rub) will be available should this be needed;
  11.  As part of our Covid-19 protocols, a candidate’s named tag will be placed on designated testing cubicles  in order to maintain social distancing;
  12.  As part of our Covid-19 protocols, hand washing/hand sanitizer to be applied before entering the examination room.
